Adobe Edge & Html5
Jordan
Adobe has released a preview of an upcoming product, Edge, which allows you to create HTML5 rich media content in kind of a After Effects environment. Pretty interesting and I had a play around with it and was able to get a simple piece of animation done. I see quite a lot of potential for replacing Flash for simpler content.
It’s really only geared for linear content though, so the Flash IDE for websites…etc will still be the de facto standard. Having tried Flash Develop & Flixel, I find myself loathe to use the Flash IDE anymore…except that FD is not available on the Mac and I don’t have to have to use Parallels for it. Well, that’s beside the point…here’s a small little sample I banged out in about a minute. You need a browser with HTML5 capabilities(I’ve tested on Chrome, Safari & Firefox…all on a Mac).
